Cleaning and scrubbing can wait till tomorrow,
For babies grow up, we've learned to our sorrow.
So quiet down cobwebs, dust go to sleep,
I'm rocking my babies 'cause babies don't keep.

TEAD OFF

Went to the Pocatello Tea Party, and listened to some of the speeches. It was a well attended event even with the drizzle that was coming down. To say the least we as a people need to stand-up and fight for our rights and defend the freedom that was hard fought for and won by our veterans.

Grandma and Grandpa's Honorable Return

I know they got home a few weeks ago, but we've had complications with downloading pics, like I said, so here is more catch up.

The kids worked on 3 large banners for most of the evening and made cards and poems for their beloved grandparents. They even tried to decorate the balloons, they wanted everything perfect. I think they would have thrown confetti everywhere if someone had given them the idea, thank you for not.

We went to the airport at 10:00 P.M. to greet them after their long flight from the Ukraine, where they served most of their mission, It was a little late, but everyone did very well including Brother, who was there in heart since he was long since asleep. The older kids were too excited to be up so late and not be in trouble for it. The family members in Utah were the lucky ones because the plane landed there around 7:00 P.M. and had a lay-over.

They came through the doors and it was obvious that most of the kids were unsure of their own reactions, but it didn't take long for them to run and love their long lost Grandma and Grandpa Lackey all up. It was sweet to listen to some of the things they wanted to say, though it was hard to pick up on any real conversation, they were all just too excited. Tayte was even so excited that he let go of the balloons, oops. It was ok, some kind sir rescued them with what looked like vacuums attachments. I wont say for certain that that is what they were, it seemed so strange to see him grabbing the balloon strings with the extender and the flat piece used for stairs that I found it hard to convince myself. Anyway, he did a very kind thing and we were all very grateful. I was very pleased we didn't have to face any broken hearts over leaving the balloons behind, kids and balloons.

We chatted for a few and took some nice pics, then it was time to gather their luggage. Should it have been a surprise that 2 of the 5 suitcases they had were missing?!? After filling out the paperwork, we went to their house for a few minutes where Grandma Janie showed the kids some of the fun souvenirs they brought home to share and we took a few more pics. When it was time to leave the kids were still so wired so we had to be a tricky Mommy and Daddy, we took them for a drive, shhhhhh. In no time at all, they were passed out and we were on our way to bed ourselves.

It was a good night and a good experience for the kiddies. I'm really glad we were able to go and even more so that everyone recovered quickly, well, the ones in our house did, Grandma and Grandpa were a different story.
